The Passa Porta Festival has been a fixture on the Brussels literary scene for many years. The tenth edition took place from 28 to 30 March 2025, under the theme ‘GHOSTS’. For three days, the spirit of literature drifted through the city. With 10,000 visitors, 101 authors, 70 events, and 22 locations, Brussels became a network of encounters between writers and readers from all corners of the world. The Passa Porta Festival is the only multilingual literary festival of this scale in Europe — a place where borders blur and literature comes alive in all its languages and forms.
Every two years, Passa Porta invites around a hundred authors, thinkers, and artists from across the globe. They speak different languages, but share one passion: the written word. From acclaimed names to emerging talents, writers take the stage at familiar venues such as Ancienne Belgique, Beursschouwburg, De Munt, Muntpunt and Théâtre National. But equally, they pop up in stores, cafés or simply on the street. The festival surprises, wanders, vanishes and appears — like any good ghost story.
The visual identity of this anniversary edition was anything but invisible. We opted for a visual language that invites and stimulates — playful, distinctive, and layered. The theme ‘GHOSTS’ was subtly woven into the design — not as something frightening, but as a quiet presence connecting past and present. The result was an identity that not only supported the festival, but also strengthened Passa Porta’s image as a contemporary house of literature.
