Het TheaterFestival is a nomadic and leading celebration of exceptional theatre, dance, circus and performance. In Ghent, the festival settled in for 11 days, highlighting the richness and diversity of the performing arts landscape in Flanders and beyond. With VIERNULVIER as its festival hub and various partner venues across the city, the festival marked a vibrant start to the new performing arts season. The programme included a festive opening, workshops, jury selections and a selection of the most significant works from the past season.
Since 2024, our studio has been responsible for the (re)branding of Het TheaterFestival. We embraced bold colours and dynamic patterns to evoke the energy of the stage, offer a fresh perspective and capture the layered nature of the different performances. The flexible system moves with the festival, taking on a new interpretation in each host city.
As a nomadic festival, Het TheaterFestival moves between Antwerp, Ghent and Brussels each year. Its aim is not only to promote the performing arts, but also to challenge and inspire the field. The festival provides a platform for talent, creates opportunities for development and recognition, and offers stable support to the many makers and professionals shaping the performing arts landscape. Insights that emerge along the way are integrated into the festival’s approach where relevant. Sustainability, both ecological and social, is central to its vision, with quality, diversity and inclusion at the core of its policy. Het TheaterFestival encourages audiences, artists and cultural professionals alike to engage in deeper reflection and exchange, supported by an extensive programme dedicated to dialogue and reflection.
